Sensorimotor Level [more on levels] The children at the sensorimotor level will enjoy playing with the animals in the miniature scenario. You can name the animals and prompt the imitation of words or signs. Functional Level Children at the functional level will enjoy moving the animals around in the miniature scenario. You can suggest that the animals are too hungry or tired to invite simple dramatic play. Symbolic Level Children at the symbolic level can reenact the story with the miniature animals.
